Our Faith
As Christians we believe in the Triune God, that is one God revealed in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe that God is the author of creation and the giver of all life. We believe that the creation made by God was good and that humankind is reflective of God's image. However, we affirm the reality of original sin. Our first parents misused the freedom given by God. In our humanity, we are incapable of living life in perfection.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the true Son of God, fully human and fully divine. We believe that out of profound love God sent Jesus into the world in order to free all people from the power of sin and death -- the product of our original sin. We believe that Jesus died on the cross, was buried, and was raised by God on the third day. Christ's death and resurrection is the cornerstone of our hope. Salvation, life abundantly in this life and eternally in God's presence in the life to come, is a free gift for all who believe in the mercy of God revealed in Jesus Christ.

We believe that The Holy Spirit is the breath of God which inspires life in faith. It is The Holy Spirit that calls, gathers and enlightens the children of God. We believe The Church is the gathered people of God who are centered around Word and Sacrament. Word and Sacrament are the vehicles through which God most intimately conveys to us God's wondrous love and mercy. This Word is expressed in many forms. We acknowledge The Bible, Old and New Testaments, to be the written Word of God. We understand two Sacraments, Baptism and Holy Communion, are means which enable us to encounter the grace of God. These signs involve earthly elements (water/bread and wine) joined with the Word of God to communicate to us forgiveness, renewal, and strength to respond to God in our lives.
